I was seeking a method to hold a small composition of important old beads. I came across this ancient format known as a "fibula." The beads are strung on thick brass wire, which is bent into the shape of a safety pin. They are wonderful on a thick sweater, a wool scarf or a winter coat. One client has a collection of them on a piece of fabric hung on the wall.
